La Cavalerie
Legendary fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro looked for a place which would be his creative retreat, and settled on La Cavalerie, where his vision resulted in a singular combination of classic architecture, Italian-inspired decor, modern comfort, and a sense of peace and regeneration. Her daughter Cosima Ungaro and her partner Austin Feilders, decided to open the estate doors to guests starting from July 2025.
La Cavalerie is a discreet estate nestled among 65 hectares of organic olive orchards in the serene foothills of Provence’s Luberon mountains. It features two buildings: La Commanderie, a 1’200-sqm residence, and La Bergerie, a 300-sqm 17th century farmhouse. They can be rented separately, but the entire estate accommodates parties of up to twenty, making it suitable for families as well as gatherings of all kinds.
La Commanderie is the historical house, the true expression of Emanuel Ungaro’s vision. It comes with 6 bedrooms including the majestic 130-sqm master bedroom, an outstanding living room which took Ungaro five years to craft, a series of beautifully decorated rooms with curated artwork - surrounded by large shadowed and sunlit terraces, and its own 25-meter pool.
La Bergerie, the new chapter of the estate written by Cosima and Austin, is decorated in a modern minimalistic style. It boasts 4 en-suite bedrooms, its own kitchen and living room with a state-of-the-art audio system, and terraces that open onto sweeping views of the estate, plus an astonishing 250sqm outdoor pool.
At La Cavalerie, gathering is an art, central to its heritage – meals are rituals, from morning’s freshly baked bread to starlit feasts served on vintage tableware, paired with wines from the family’s private cellar. Ingredients are locally sourced, honoring the estate’s connection to the land.
Days unfold in tranquility – walks through olive groves, strolls through the colourful provencal markets, bespoke wellness treatments, and intimate concerts in the medieval chapel. At night, the estate glows with laughter, music, and a sky full of stars.
