"Villa Maïa is a hotel that I would have liked as my home, full of attention to detail, surrounded by gardens, bathed in spirituality and shared family values”

Christophe Gruy - owner of Villa Maïa.

In the heart of the ancient quarter, just steps away from the city center

Lyon is rich in history, culture and gastronomy. The city is a fascinating mix of tradition, modernity and conviviality.

With an heritage of more than 2000 years of French history - it used to be the French capital - Lyon has plenty to show to its visitors: the ancient quarter with the famous Basilique de Fourvière and Gallo-Roman theaters, the “Vieux Lyon” and its hidden narrow streets known as "traboules" where it's so pleasant to stroll, the "Presqu'Ile" between the two rivers... Lyon also lives to the rhythm of events such as the Nuits de Fourvière (concerts in summer) and the Fête des Lumières in December.

With its local restaurants known as "bouchons lyonnais", its many Michelin-starred restaurants and its culinary specialties, Lyon is undoubtedly the French capital of gastronomy.

Nestled atop the emblematic Colline de Fourvière, Villa Maïa offers breathtaking views of the city, the historic monuments and the Alps. Just a few steps away from the city center and Old Lyon, the hotel's location is simply ideal.

A French trio - architect, designer and landscape gardener

Villa Maïa’s architecture has been designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte. His timeless approach, his minimalist and elegant style emphasizes light and transparency in harmony with the environment.

The interior design is by Jacques Grange. His style combines modernity and elegance. The rooms feature contemporary lines with soft colors and a touch of art deco, inspired by Japanese art.

Finally, the contemplative garden has been designed by the landscape gardener Louis Benech. With a respectful and sustainable approach to nature, he dreamed up the Villa Maïa garden as a perfect, serene design seen from above.

Accommodation

Rooms and suites, softness and serenity

In an intimate setting, guests enjoy 27 spacious rooms and 6 suites with Japanese influences. All rooms and suites have private terraces, many of them offer a view over the city of Lyon, where it's pleasant to contemplate the sunrise and watch the city waking up; others overlook the quiet hotel's contemplative garden.

The apartment, Lyon under the open sky

With a 180° view of the city, Villa Maïa's unique 100sqm ((1076 sq ft) apartment offers guests pure moments of relaxation, admiring Mont Blanc while sipping a signature cocktail from the private terrace. The apartment is also available in a 2-bedroom version, thanks to a connecting room, ideal for families or for a VIP guest travelling with a security member.

Lyon has successfully preserved its culinary traditions and has been the capital of French gastronomy since 1935. Staying in Lyon means discovering local traditional dishes, sometimes modernized by younger Chefs.
